Are hydration backpacks a good investment for runners?

Choosing the right hydration solution for running can be tough with so many options out there. I’ve been thinking about hydration backpacks lately, but I’m not sure if they actually improve the running experience. While a lot of people use bottles, I’m curious if a backpack would make it easier to stay hydrated during longer runs.

I’ve seen mixed opinions on hydration backpacks. Some runners love them for their comfort and efficiency, while others find them a bit bulky. Living in sunny San Diego, staying hydrated is essential, but I also want something that won’t weigh me down or disrupt my pace. For those who have tried hydration backpacks, what’s been your experience? Do you think they’re worth the cost, or should I just stick with handheld bottles for my runs?
