Do You Really Need a Hydration Belt for Running?

Many runners debate whether hydration belts are a must-have during their training. For me, combining wellness with a light productivity system means staying hydrated is essential, especially on those longer runs. I’m wondering if the convenience of having water on hand is worth the potential discomfort of wearing a belt while running.

I’ve come across mixed reviews about hydration belts. Comfort seems to vary a lot from one brand to another. Some runners can’t imagine running without them, while others find them bulky or prone to chafing. Given that Vancouver’s weather can change on a dime, being able to easily grab a drink can really help. Have any of you experimented with different hydration belts? What features do you think are necessary when choosing one? And for those who prefer not to use a belt, how do you manage your hydration on the run?
