There seems to be a lot of discussion around whether mental illness should be classified similarly to chronic physical illnesses. Many people I know are dealing with long-term mental health challenges, and they often feel like they’re managing conditions comparable to diabetes or heart disease.
On one side, mental illnesses can last for years, requiring continuous management and care. However, the stigma surrounding mental health can complicate how we view these conditions. What do you think? Does considering mental illness as a chronic illness change our approach to wellness and support?
How have personal experiences influenced your perspective on this issue? Have you discovered any techniques, like breathwork, that help you manage your mental health sustainably?
